Praised by The Washington Post for his “ravishing and simply gorgeous” performances, pianist David Fung is celebrated for interpretations that are elegant, poetic, and deeply expressive. With a repertoire of more than sixty concertos, he has appeared as a soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, and the major symphony orchestras of Australia. An acclaimed interpreter of Mozart and Bach, he has also performed with distinguished chamber orchestras and collaborated with renowned conductors such as Marin Alsop, Gustavo Dudamel, Michael Francis, and Christian Zacharias.
David Fung has performed in many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Louvre, and the Zürich Tonhalle, as well as at major festivals such as Aspen, Edinburgh, Hong Kong Arts, and Ravinia. An international prizewinner at both the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition and the Arthur Rubinstein Piano International Masters Competition, he is the first piano graduate of the Colburn Conservatory. He currently serves as a curator at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver, teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and the University of British Columbia, and is a Steinway Artist.
